Chebucto Community Net Board meeting
November 12,1996

Present: David Trueman, Joan Brown Hicks, Jan Fullerton, Rob Currie, Joan 
Macintosh, Ben Armstrong, Carole Compton-Smith, 

It was moved by Joan BH and seconded by David that the minutes of the 
October 29th meeting be approved. Motion carried.

David moved and Ben seconded that the following procedures be adopted for 
approving motions on line - that any board member may post a motion to 
the board list. This becomes a formal motion when the secretary posts the 
motion and calls for a vote. Board members email their vote to the 
secretary who posts the results of the vote. The secretary shall declare 
a positive result if and when fifty percent of the board have voted in 
the affirmative or declare a negative result if and when fifty percent of 
the board have voted contrary-wise. Motion carried.

Renee Davis has agreed to be a member of the Policy Information Committee.

Jan approached Doug re being chair of the Support and Training Committee. 
He has agreed so Jan will chair the new Volunteer Committee. A new 
committee list will be developed.

Strategic Planning Session: Peter Morgan from River Systems has agreed to 
facilitate the planning session. It will take place on November 28th at 
the Halifax Campus - N.S. Community College , 1825 Bell Road, from 5 
-8:30 pm. Joan , Bernie and David T will send out the invitations. Carol 
will look after supper arrangements.

Sackville Meeting : David Murdock is organizing a meeting on December 3 
at Millwood High School. Details are still to be worked out.

IP report: New volunteer editors have joined the team. An IP 
administrative home page has been developed -" go ipadm"

System upgrade: David reported that serious upgrades will be needed very 
shortly.Carol will look at the budget. David look at the cost of lines 
and upgrades. Joan M will look at fundraising strategy.Discussion and 
decisions will take place on line.

The next board meeting will be decided after details for the Sackville 
meeting have been arranged.

The first meeting in the new year will be Tuesday Jan 7th and every other 
second Tuesday afterwards.
